Ur. w 1972 r. w Krakowie. Magister historii sztuki (1996), UJ; doktor nauk humanistycznych w zakresie nauk o sztuce (2005), UJ; habilitacja z historii sztuki (2018). Zatrudniony kolejno jako asystent (2002-2008) oraz adiunkt (2008-2014) w Zakładzie Historii Sztuki Średniowiecznej, a następnie (od 2014 do chwili obecnej) – adiunkt w Zakładzie Historii Sztuki Bizantyńskiej Instytutu Historii Sztuki UJ. Stypendysta Fundacji Lanckorońskich w Wenecji (1995) i Rzymie (2004), Fundacji im. Stefana Batorego w Oksfordzie (1996), funduszu „The Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders' Fellowship Grant" (1997-1998), programu TEMPUS w Turynie (1998) oraz programu CEEPUS w Budapeszcie (1999). Od 1992 do 2002 r. uczestniczył w akcji dokumentacji kościołów rzymskokatolickich na Ukrainie, będąc jej współinicjatorem i współorganizatorem. W latach 1997-2014 członek zespołu redakcyjnego czasopisma „Artibus et Historiae. An Art Anthology", 2009-2015 wiceprezes Oddziału Krakowskiego Stowarzyszenia Historyków Sztuki, w 2016 r. wicedyrektor Instytutu Historii Sztuki ds. studenckich. Od 2020 r. zastępca dyrektora Muzeum Narodowego w Krakowie ds. działalności programowej. W latach 2013-2015 realizował projekt badawczy „Sztuka kolonii genueńskich w Basenie Morza Czarnego (1261-1475). Z badań nad zagadnieniami akulturacji w sztuce późnośredniowiecznej”, finansowany przez Narodowe Centrum Nauki. Uczestnik ponad 30 zagranicznych i krajowych konferencji naukowych. Autor ponad 100 publikacji, w tym trzech książek, kilkudziesięciu artykułów naukowych oraz licznych opracowań inwentarzowych kościołów na Ukrainie (w książkach z serii: „Kościoły i klasztory rzymskokatolickie dawnego województwa ruskiego”).

Born 1972 in Kraków; MA (art history), Jagiellonian University, 1996; Phd (Humanities in the knowledge on art), Jagiellonian University, 2005; Post-doctoral degree (habilitation in art history), 2018; Assistant (2002-2008) and assistant professor (2008-2014) in the Chair of Medieval Art History, then – assistant professor (2014-2020) in the Chair of Byzantine Art History and since 2020 – in the Chair of Medieval and Byzantine History, always in the Department of Art History at the Jagiellonian University. Fellow of the Lanckoroński Foundation in Venice (1995) and Rome (2004), Stefan Batory Foundation in Oxford (1996), the "Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders' Fellowship Grant" (1997-1998), of the TEMPUS Programme in Turin (1998) and CEEPUS in Budapest (1999). From 1992 to 2002 he participated in the action of the documentation of Roman Catholic churches in Ukraine, being its co-originator and co-organizer. In 1997-2014 member of the editorial board of the magazine „Artibus et Historiae. An Art Anthology”. In 2009-2015 Vice President of the Krakow Branch of the Association of Art Historians in Poland, in 2016 deputy director of the Department of Art History for student affairs. From 2020, deputy director of the National Museum in Kraków for program activities. In 2013-2015 leading a research project „Art of the Genoese Colonies in the Black Sea Basin (1261-1475). Research on Issues of Acculturation in Late Medieval Art”, financed by the National Science Centre (Poland). Participant of over 30 international and national academic conferences and author of over 100 publications, including three books.
